Nelson, a long time runner and marathoner, is a past Indy Runners president. As vice-president for Butler Fairman and Sevfert, Nelson has worked on many greenways and trails across Indiana, including the Monon Trail in Indianapolis.
Bob, a veteran of many marathons, including Big Sur and New York, serves as chairman of the Mayor's Fitness Council. As an attorney Bob has not only served as president for Indy Runners, but also continues to serve on the Board of Directors as legal council for the club.
Thom has managed the Athletic Annex since 1986, and as one of the charter members of Nike's Athletics West ran the 5000 meters in the 1976 and 1980 Olympic Trials and posted a 2:15 marathon best. Thom has also earned his masters degree in exercise physiology from Indiana University.
Duane, also a veteran marathoner and past Indy Runners president, now resides in Saint Louis working for Mayflower, where he is running hills preparing for his move back to a flatter, gentler Indianapolis upon retirement.
As founder and coach of Personal Best Training and the head coach for Indiana Team in Training, Matt has coached a wide range of runners and walkers, including over 1500 marathoners. Matt has also been running for twenty years, including several marathons.
Mike adds his background as a manufacturer's representative for Saucony, among others, to his athletic retail management experience. After competing for the University of Southern Indiana and running a 2:24 marathon, Mike continues into his 20th year of running.
Becky has been with the Athletic Annex for ten years. While usually maintaining her common sense about running, Becky did run the 1995 Columbus Marathon.
Kevin was the first American finisher at the centennial anniversary of the Boston Marathon in 1996. He is currently preparing for the 2000 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials.
Julie is working on her second hand of state championship rings at Carmel High School. In addition to running, she also enjoys a number of sports, including soccer, swimming, and basketball.
David completed the "mini" during his 7th grade year and has continued his running, now as a senior at Zionsville High School. He created and now maintains the award winning Zionsville cross-country web page. David is also an accomplished pianist.
Roosevelt, a sub-4:00 miler and two time Olympic Trials qualifier, is the head girls track coach at Brebeuf. He not only strengthens our 4 x 1600 relay, but also has experience in business and as a personal trainer.
Sarah is a former University of Dayton runner and ran her first marathon in San Diego this June with Team in Training. Sarah also serves on the Board of Directors for Indy Runners.
The 1997 state cross-country champion from North Central High School, Bart has lead our high school employees in their charge to dispel the myth that teenagers are incapable of being knowledgable and helpful.
"Drugs are my life", says Nathan, the pharmacology major at Butler University. Between studying and working, Nathan enjoys training and participating in road races.
Jayson, "The Rookie", runs for Lawrence North High School and is working to live up to the standard set by our other student employees.
A former world ranked swimmer and participant in the 1972 and 1976 Olympic swimming trials, Robbin also enjoys running, walking, and triathlon competitions. She spends much of her time working with the daily business operations of the store.
Mary has completed several marathons, most recently Walt Disney World, and helps mentor Team in Training participants preparing for their own marathons.
Mike enjoys fantastic success as a triathlete and duathlete. Mike prefers some swimming and biking before his marathons, as he has finished the Hawaii Ironman Triathlon twice.
Meisha is a track athlete and basketball player with aspirations for medical school after she graduates from North Central High School this spring.
